Summer Day Retreat
Sunday 27th July, 10am - 4pm
The Wellness Barn, Edinburgh
Refresh.
Reflect.
Renew.
Guided by principles of Environmental Arts Therapy and led by a qualified dramatherapist, this day retreat is designed to allow you to find stillness in the busyness of summer to (re)connect with your inner world, held and inspired by nature. Come as you are and find your intuition, your unique wisdom, your authentic creativity and your innate connection to nature.
“After the fires of solstice have burned low, stillness descends upon the countryside, the peace after the storm, and we settle into the constancy of summer. Having fired up and fought our battles, we sink now back into the feminine, the dark pool of feeling that underlay our conflicts. As July begins, we start to sense these deep and hidden undercurrents and tentatively dip our toes into them.”

“By the end of July, summer is reaching its fullness and the air is alive with little angels and dragons, the butterflies have emerged from their chrysalis... We too may be sensing this, feeling our new wings unfold. Transformation offers us freedom from old ways. It lifts the veil of illusion that restrains us and welcomes us into new possibilities.”

- Environmental Arts Therapy and the Tree of Life

Finding times for stillness and reflection, especially in the middle of summer, can be hard. We may have an urge for incessent activity, a drive that takes us out into the world. But this can stop us from listening to our hearts and we may lose connection to the very source that inspires us. Only in stillness, in being, feeling and receiving, can we access this source. So the task is to find balance, to find time to be both inward and outward. Yin and yang.
Where can we find our balance, our stillness,
our hearts? In nature and in creativity.
In nature we are refilled because nature and the feeling self are one. In our creativity our soul finds its voice. In both nature and in creativity we encounter ourselves, our true selves.
